Three Alones:
by grace alone!
Paul writes, "There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." (Romans 3:23) Grace means that salvation is a gift of God. God does not accept us because of our good works. And that includes even our religious good works. We are justified freely!
"Justified" is a big word. It is been simply explained by remembering, "It's just as if I had no sin." We are justified by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. "By grace have you been saved, through faith - and this not from yourself, it is the gift of God - not by
works, so that no one can boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). ... by grace alone!
through faith alone!
Paul wrote to the Romans that this righteousness is from God ... "Righteousness is another big theological word. It is the result of
justification. Righteousness is God looking at us "just as if we had no sin." "This righteousness from God," Paul says, "comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe" (Romans 3:22). God tells us that righteousness and justification are available to us by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When we believe that Christ is our Savior, His perfect righteousness is credited to us through faith alone!
Scripture alone!
God has provided for you and for me the Holy Scriptures, which reveal Jesus Christ. We read the Scriptures, hear the Scriptures, meditate on the Scriptures, and talk with one another about the Scriptures so that we grow in grace and saving faith. We're living in a post-modern era where people do not believe in absolute truth. We believe that there is absolute truth and it is found in the Bible. ... Scripture alone! It tells us of the free gift of salvation in Jesus Christ, grace alone! This righteousness of God is ours through faith, faith alone!
